Out-licensing of Axiron® (testosterone replacement) for global commercialisation. US$50m upfront, up to US$285m in approval and sales milestones, plus royalties on net sales. The largest Australian biotech licensing deal at the time. FDA approval of Axiron® followed in 2011.

North American licensing — August 2018
up to US$465m
Total deal value
Out-licensing of trofinetide for Rett syndrome and other indications. US$10m upfront, up to US$455m in development and sales milestones, plus tiered double-digit royalties on net sales. Trofinetide was subsequently approved by the FDA as Daybue™.

As Managing Director and CEO of Acrux Limited (ASX:ACR), he led the company's transformational licensing transaction — the US$335m global deal with Eli Lilly for Axiron® — and delivered Acrux's maiden profit and A$100m dividend in 2010. The same year he was named EY Entrepreneur of the Year (Listed Company category) and has subsequently served on the EY judging panel.
